A Chartered Marketer, spent the earlier part of her career in sales and marketing management roles within major media and tourism organisations. She then joined a well-known outplacement and organisational consulting corporation to set up and head up, one of its regional operations. Ten years later, after successfully developing the business and gaining a reputation as an innovative project director, skilled facilitator, and one on one coach, Sylvia moved on to establish herself as an independent consultant. Amongst other things she has worked alongside corporations to enable them to tap into the discretionary effort of their employees and unleash the latent potential that creates business improvement through engaged performance.
Her personal development over the years has focused less on established routes and more on exploring the alternatives. She holds a Master Practitioner Certification in Neuro Linguistic Programming, as well as a Training and Consultancy Certification. She has studied value systems, based on the work of the late Dr Clare Graves, with Dr Don Beck and Chris Cowan, authors of Spiral Dynamics, and recently completed a programme of study on communication and the human energy field. She has an interest in other cultures and their esoteric teachings and visited Peru with a small group to work with a local teacher and healer. She has also undertaken programmes on The Hawaiian system of Huna with Dr Serge Kahili King, author of numerous books.. More recently she completed certification in Myers Briggs and the British Psychological Society Certificates of Competence in Level A and Level B Testing.
